Prayer Is a Conduit to God’s Power

Do you know about the power of prayer? You have God’s power within you! Prayer is the conduit by which you can access God’s power and see it manifest! Read this guest post by Horace Williams, Jr. today. He’s an encourager and one who is anchored in God’s Word.

What a discouraging word this can be. No one wants to ever feel helpless.

Think back to those times where you have experienced that feeling.

Did you well up with tears and cry your eyes out? Maybe you picked up the phone and called a close friend, or searched the refrigerator for your favorite ice cream?

Remember this, my friend, you have access to God’s amazing power via prayer.

Access God’s Power of Prayer

It is hard at times to admit you need help or confirm you have a weakness. Maybe you feel helpless when it comes to dealing with a difficult family member, a financial crisis that springs up out of the blue or even the tragic loss of a loved one. It is in these moments of intense struggle that you must plug into your Savior, Jesus Christ. Get down on your knees and tell God what is on your heart. There is nothing to fear or worry about when you put your trust in Him.

The God who sent His only Son to die on the cross for you loves you unconditionally. He wants to hear from you. His desire is to communicate with you. The same power that rolled away the stone as Jesus rose again is available to you right now! Don’t let feelings of doubt, discouragement, and Satan’s deceit prevent you from talking with Almighty God.

Because of Christ’s sacrifice, you have 24-hour access to the ultimate power source. God’s amazing power transforms lives! He is ready and waiting to transform your life and the lives of so many. Still not sure about this? Feeling depressed and discouraged as the doubt lingers? Lean in close, and I will share with you proof that the power of God transforms lives via prayer.

See the Power of Prayer Manifest

The moment you surrendered your heart to Jesus Christ, He blessed you with the Holy Spirit to live inside you. So regardless of what your feeling at this moment, believe what is written in His word. You have God’s POWER within you, and prayer is the conduit by which you can access God’s power and see it manifest in your life and the lives of people all over the world!

So whether you are feeling sorrow, anxiety, fear or totally helpless, talk with God. He understands what you are feeling, and He wants to empower you as you seek to live for Him.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 ESV

Blessings Through the Power of Prayer

Grace; one of the benefits of God’s unconditional love. He wants to shower you with undeserved favor. If you are in need of comfort, courage, help, or you seek wisdom, you can receive all of these through intimate conversations with your Savior. God is omnipotent, and He knows everything. With God, there are never any surprises, so go to Him. He will empower you with the strength to handle whatever you are facing right now.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 ESV

God is present…don’t ever forget that as you go throughout each day. He wants to bless, encourage and strengthen your trust in Him. As the apostle, Paul states in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Remember the prophet Elijah? What a powerful prophet of God. He called down fire from heaven, and it consumed a water-soaked altar as he proved God’s almighty power to the children of Israel. He killed 450 prophets of Baal too. Elijah did not die but was taken up to Heaven via a chariot of fire to be with God. He also appeared with Jesus and Moses at Christ’s transfiguration.

One of my favorite verses regarding prayer continues to lift my spirit as I seek to access God’s power. Look at what it says in James.

…The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain for three years and six months. James 5:16b-17 NASB

Elijah accessed God’s power as He prayed earnestly. He felt fear, doubt, and even asked God to take His life one time, but God nourished his soul. He wants to do the same for you. You too can access God’s power through prayer.

Plug into God’s Power with Fervent Prayer

I hope that these truths from God’s word have reminded and encouraged you that your prayers have power! Talk with God, spend focused time in His word, and you will never be the same as He continues to transform your life.

So, I ask you, is your life plugged in to God’s amazing power?

Elijah accessed God's power as He prayed earnestly. You can, too. @Pleasing2Potter #PowerOfGod Click To Tweet
