How Does Refreshing for Your Soul Sound?

How does some refreshing for your soul sound?

Pretty good, right? In this post, I’m sharing about a new devotional I discovered that will be sure to quench the thirsty.

Life can be full of trials. (Ask a mom with four kids. Just sayin’.) When you go through hard days filled with unexpected troubles and turmoil, they can become wearisome weights if you allow them to be. Sometimes I feel myself sinking into the muck of them, too beat down to fight my way out.

But friend, Jesus is your Shepherd. He calls you to come and be near.

I love the promise in James 4:8 (ESV) to, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”

He is the everlasting source of Living Water. I want to keep drinking from His well, don’t you?

Refreshing from God’s Servants

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. Psalm 23:2 ESV

When you come He is sure to fill and refresh you. HE brings refreshing for your soul. And He uses His servants to encourage us to draw from His living water.

I’m thankful for my new friend, Sherry Stahl, who does just that!

I haven’t known Sherry very long, but I love how she will wake up at 4:00 in the morning to write a word from God. And I love her sense of humor. It made me laugh after I joined her launch team when she said,

So thankful God has connected us! Between the two of us people can stay nourished and refreshed 🙂 Teehee

Soul H2O

I found many favorites in her new devotional book, Soul H2O: 40 Thirst Quenching Devotions for Women. It’s refreshing for your soul indeed! I’ll give you a couple of highlights.

I love how Sherry encourages in a fresh way when it comes to living in fear versus walking in godly confidence. I have an inspiring new view on this subject now!

In Devotion 39, this is what she says about going through seasons when you feel unsettled:

Frequently, God moves us into ‘hot spots’ and makes us wait for an undetermined amount of time. The old ways are no longer comfortable; they lack fulfillment. We sense that things are about to change, but we don’t know how…or when!…If you’re sensing this in your life, be encouraged; God is up to something good.

Fellow writer, Bethany Mcllrath, describes it this way:

Instead of being about big life changes and heavy topics, Soul H2O offers basic life sustenance.

Every time I soaked up the words in her Soul H2O devotional I felt so peaceful, just as if God had led me beside still waters.

Each short devotional begins with a key verse, and then Sherry relates her experiences or simple biblical truths into her message. Following, is a prayer, and the entry ends with section aptly titled “Drawing from the Well.”

I encourage you to pick up a copy and get refreshing for your soul!
