Sometimes we can feel insignificant when God is so big.
But God hears you and sees you and here’s why.
According to Isaiah 40:12, the heavens are measured by the span of God’s hand. A span is a measurement that marks the distance from the thumb to the pinky finger on an outstretched hand.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Isaiah 40:12 ESV
God. Is. Huge.
Does this make you feel meaningless? Do you wonder if He sees you? The Bible tells us that He does:
The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; Psalm 33:13 ESV
He sees Isabella
After the news sunk in, her dreams seemed to be slipping out of what little power she possessed to make them happen.
She escaped to an empty room to be alone and sank to the floor sobbing.
She weakly grabbed an empty plastic bag. Could she really be so upset that she was going to be sick?
Her tears overtook her again.
God, are you there?
A thought came into her mind, and she knew it wasn’t hers.
I am bottling every one of your tears.
God Sees John
He sat staring at nothing, his head in his hands.
He had been reflecting on his life and was dissatisfied at what he saw. Making the next sale was his bottle.
His life felt empty, depressed, lonely.
He shot up from his seat in an unresolved effort to stop the madness and walked swiftly toward the door.
He stopped short and pounded his fist on the wall before sinking his head into his hands again.
Why do I keep making the same wrong choices?God, do you see my life?
Somehow he could knew he wasn’t alone.
My strength is provided for you. I alone satisfy.
God Sees Rosie
Her father had left when she was just a baby, and now the news that her mother had died cut her fragile heart.
The girl sat shivering in a warm room. Did anyone really understand how she felt?
She lifted woeful eyes to the ceiling, and quickly down again. She paused, and looked up again.
God, if you’re there, will you take away this ache?
She felt a sudden, comforting warmth.
I am mending your broken heart.
Do You Feel Meaningless to God? He Sees You
What about your life?
Do you wonder if God sees you? Hears you?
He does.
God listens to each sigh of your heart.
He ishere.
God’s Clothes
He can handle your life. God has the strength for it; He wears strength like a belt.
The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Psalm 93:1 ESV
He’s amazing. Almighty God is:
robed in majesty
encompassed with strength
clothed with splendor
wearing light like a garment
Have you ever tried to picture what strength or majesty would look like as a garment??
O Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. Psalm 104:1-2 ESV
However, there’s one garment that His Son once wore but wears no longer—the black garment of sin.
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. Isaiah 53:6 NLT
Jesus took on the sin of the whole world. So you don’t need to feel meaningless to God.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 NLT
That day, Jesus wore that garment in our place. He paid the price (the punishment of death) for your sins and mine.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NLT
After He died, He rose again, casting that black garment down in triumph!
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:22-23 NLT
If you feel meaningless to God I must tell you, you are loved in His eyes!
God Hears You
Yes, dear reader, God not only sees you but hears you.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” Romans 10:10,13 NLT
Is your soul at rest? If not, finding rest is just a prayer away.
For I hold you by your right hand—I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Isaiah 41:13 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 NLT
Sometimes you just have to counsel yourself. Or remind yourself, because we sometimes forget.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 NLT

This is wonderful. The stories of the different people and their journies add a great dimension. God sees, and He cares. #salt&light
I’m so grateful that God sees each of us, each by name, each by heart. He is truly an awesome God!
Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL post, Kelly! I cried out to God just yesterday, “God, do you see me? This situation I am in?” I know those cries well! I have heard Him tell me before, that He does indeed see me, and He is working, (even when I can’t see it). Thank you for this timely reminder!
Oh, the beautiful comfort of the simple truths. Why do we like to make it more complicated than it is? Thanks for the reminder. And, I agree. Sometimes we have to counsel ourselves to remember what we know. (And, thankful for all the sweet blogging friends (like you!) who are speaking these truths into our lives as well.) Thanks for sharing, friend. xoxo
What incredibly beautiful Scriptures you’ve collated here, Kelly. And those unique testimonies to His great love for us. Such a blessing to read this. Thank you so much.
Kelly do you think you can explain to some one who hasn’t been thru enough trials and they understand what is meant by having a relationship with God? Yes they claim to be very Christian’s and they would never miss a Sunday without church.
