God’s Word is a vast mining field. See the spiritual paralleles between the video game Minecraft and mining in God’s Word.

God’s Word is a vast mining field. See the spiritual paralleles between the video game Minecraft and mining in God's Word. #ThrivingInChrist #spiritualgrowth #BibleStudy #dailybread

“What do you want your birthday party theme to be this year?” I asked my son with pen and paper in hand. Without a beat, he replied, “Minecraft!”

The major action of that video game is mining. One of the modes of play is Survival Mode where you build armor and weapons to fight against treacherous enemies. When I read that description about Minecraft the spiritual parallels stood out to me.

I’m not a video game person, but I love to mine for the hidden treasures of God’s Word! He has given me the Armor of God and spiritual weapons to defeat the enemy against my soul.

God’s Word is a Vast Mining Field

God’s Word is a vast mining field. For years I have been searching out the truths in it, and God has called me to write them and teach them.

Yesterday I spruced up the 40 Days of Daily Bread devotional series landing page. You may not have realized these devotionals were here, so I have inserted a portion of the heart behind the series below for your benefit!

I rejoice at Your word As one who finds great treasure. Psalm 119:162 NKJV

Jesus showed us that we can come to the Father for our Daily Bread (Matthew 6:11). Your inner self needs nourishment to be strong and to grow. You might have been unintentionally fasting your spiritual food. Don’t allow yourself to become spiritually malnourished!

You’re here because that means that you are being intentional about staying nourished in your walk with God and thriving in Christ!

How About Mining in God’s Word?

Would you like to become consistent with having a Daily Time with God?

Do you want to become a stronger follower of Jesus?

Do you need to be encouraged in your walk with the Lord?

40 Days of Daily Bread: Devotionals for Breakthrough #Devotional | #40DayswithGod #Howtogrowspiritually #BibleStudy #quiettime #dailytime #Christian #40daysofdailybread #kellyrbaker #breakthrough #learnaboutGod #Jesus

If you said yes to any of those questions, then you will find plenty of good spiritual food in the posts from the 40 Days of Daily Bread series!

Whatever your reason, I know that He has shown me that this time is going to equal one thing…

…breakthrough!

If you do anything for about 30 to 40 days, you will form a new habit. The number 40 is significant with God because it refers to a time of testing. Are you ready to breakthrough into a greater spiritual maturity?

Happy mining in God’s Word!

I like the link you make here. I’m not a video game person either but I love digging deep in God’s truth. That definitely is what we need to do in order to defeat the enemy.

I agree with the above sentiments! My kids are into Minecraft too but never thought about it in relation to God’s Word.
The 40 day devotional sounds great and I’ll be checking it out.

I love how you call it into tendril all fasting and not that it can lead to spiritual malnourishment… So true! I’ve got two boys who’d ask for a mine craft party, too!!

Haha – thanks for the parallels – my kids are grown so there is no mine craft playing in our home these days, but when I teach the kids, they often refer to this game – so your take on the spiritual similarities is very helpful. thanks so much – 🙂
