Life is full of stresses, but we all know about those seasons when we feel like we can’t take it anymore. Or we are going to explode. Or our emotions have been splattered on the floor. Some seasons are just…long. God is never blind to these types of strains. In fact, He will utilize these times to create something beautiful in us. It is the unforeseen result of intense trials.
When you woke up today you have already put a great deal of time into becoming a priceless diamond, cherished by your heavenly Father. An enormous amount of factors have to meet together for a diamond to be produced. The study of how this precious gemstone comes about makes a fascinating analogy for our lives.
4 Ways the Making of a Diamond can Relate to Life
Conditions. How are diamonds formed? Under extreme conditions of extreme temperature and pressure. Sound familiar? It will if you’ve been under an massive amount of pressure, or if you’ve frequently found yourself in hot water.
Placement. The rare crystals are formed deep in upper mantle of the earth. So deep, that no way exists to drill to that depth. Many times when we are going through such a season, others will not understand just how we feel. That’s because God is doing a deep work in us. Only God knows just how deep He is going into our heart.
Rupture. These remarkable jewels are brought to the surface by deep volcanic eruptions. I think this happens when we are just so done with the strain that we run to the Father. We burst. We cry. We may even weep. Our heart wrenches with the weight of the pressure, and in our humanness we “erupt.”
Value. Diamonds are unique in that they exist in various sizes, colors, and shapes. You may have heard the quote, “We all want to be diamonds, but few want to be cut,” floating around the internet, but they are cut out to be displayed. God loves to put His diamonds on display.
God is faithful. We know that He will complete the work He has started in us because we are treasured by Him.
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6NKJV
How pleasing to envision how God views each one of us as His exquisite creation!
