Christmas Week Appointments with God

While I was praying that “every heart prepare Him room,” God laid on my heart an invitation for you.

I want to invite you to join me here on the blog for a 5 day series during Christmas week. Christmas Week Appointments with God will start Monday, December 21st and run through Christmas Day. Each day will be a brief post walking you through simple reflections to remain continuous in your time with God during one of the busiest times of the year.

The Bible says to pray and praise “continually” and “without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Psalm 34:1) Now that could not possibly mean every second of every day. After all, we do have to communicate with others, and have jobs and other responsibilities.

What if that meant, every day?

Christmas week seems to be the busiest of the whole month for some, while racing toward the deadline of the 25th. Some things that we usually do fall by the wayside to make room to get to the Christmas-related extras. Spending time with our Lord shouldn’t be one of them.

There are 1,440 minutes in a day. Do you have a few minutes every day to give to the Lord? I think you probably do, but may want an extra dose of motivation to not break the connection of meeting with Him every day.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 NKJV

If our goal is fruitfulness, then let’s not let the cares of the season choke out the Word.

Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. Luke 8:14 NKJV

Today’s post will act as a table of contents for the series. I will link back to this page as each post is published.

  1. Day 1: Exchange Yokes
  2. Day 2: Discern Roadblocks
  3. Day 3: Tune In
  4. Day 4: Obtain Solutions
  5. Day 5: Allow Ripening

I’m excited about this series and I hope you are, too! Please pass the word. It’s going to be so good, even I am going to subscribe. 😉 The first post will be up Monday. If you haven’t yet subscribed, join us now so you don’t miss it!

If you’re going to meet with God during this series, please encourage others by replying, “I’m in!”
